Atasan introduces the D15 Chest Freezer Hinge, a compact mechanical solution engineered to support balanced lid movement in top-opening freezers. Combining a compression spring with a polymer friction element, the D15 helps counterbalance the lid and supports position holding within its suitable operating range.
The D15 uses a compression spring to counterbalance the torque created by the lid's weight. A polymer friction element supports controlled movement and helps hold the lid within its balance range. The mechanism operates without a hydraulic damper and requires no routine lubrication within specified operating conditions.
The D15 features a galvanized steel body that houses the spring and moving components. Protective plastic covers shield the mechanism and provide a clean, polished appearance. White, light gray and anthracite finishes can be evaluated for OEM applications.
The product is rated for up to 30,000 balancing cycles and 50,000 mechanical cycles under specified test conditions. Its corrosion resistance has been evaluated using the ASTM B117 salt spray test, with a reported result of 72 hours.
Different appliance designs require different mounting interfaces. Atasan can evaluate alternative versions featuring different mounting-hole patterns, fixing-point spacing and pivot-axis positions to support OEM integration.

Actual performance depends on lid geometry, spring matching, installation and operating conditions. The balancing mechanism does not guarantee slow or slam-free closing from every angle.
